Game Preview:

Opponent: #12 ranked Alamo City Allstars
Date: November 11th, 2023
Location: San Jacinto College-North, Houston, Texas
The Alamo City Allstars, hailing from San Antonio, have established themselves as perennial contenders in the American Basketball Association (ABA) National Championship race. Currently boasting a 2-0 record in the ABA, they are widely recognized as a force to be reckoned with in the league.

The HBCU Movement, on the other hand, enters this game with a record of 1-2, fresh from a thrilling victory over the New Orleans Rush in their recent game. Their remarkable triumph in New Orleans showcased the team’s resilience, unity, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Coach Kevin Williams Sr. shared his anticipation for the game:

“I am looking forward to this game and seeing how we respond after a win. We have seen how we respond after a loss, so now it’s reversed. If you look at our first 4 games, we played the #10 ranked North Alabama Wardawgs and lost by 5. We came back the next day and lost by 2 points in overtime to the #12 ranked Houston Red Storm. Now we play the #12 ranked Alamo City Allstars. Three out of four games, we will play three of the top 15 teams in the league. We are confident, and we are not ducking any team. I am excited about this weekend.”

Coach Williams Sr.’s words capture the essence of The HBCU Movement—a team unafraid of challenges and eager to compete at the highest level. Their journey in the ABA signifies more than just basketball; it’s a celebration of HBCU excellence, unity, and a commitment to making history.
